It’s not often when Iowa and Iowa State win on the same day, but we found an entertaining venue to witness it. Iowa cleaned up Illinois at Kinnick for their homecoming match-up, but the Cyclones had the game of the day. Not just for the state of Iowa but a national shocker over #3 Oklahoma down in Norman. Langer’s Bar & Grill had the room full of both fans and all were eventually cheering on ISU and why not! This ain’t the Oklahoma Gallivant! This is The IOWA Gallivant and what better way to celebrate this home of ours… so smell you later Sooners! However, Team Langer’s ran up the score with these game-day delights…..

I’ll take delicious runny foods for $1000, Alex. If that was an actual Jeopardy question you’d find Langer’s on the Daily Double for sure. The 49er burger came highly recommended by our server and bless every inch of her for this suggestion. Their third pound all beef patty with hash browns, American cheese, crispy bacon and that beautifully cooked over-easy egg running all over the rest of the food like it’s supposed to do. To the right is the famous homemade cheesecake at Langer’s. We went Oreo flavored and there wasn’t a crumb left. Think this all? Nope! Here’s what got Langer’s in our Best Between Bread series and it’s what made us cross the road to Sheldon. Many, many roads.

Langer’s calls this the “Cadillac” of chicken sandwiches and after one bite you’ll see why. Tender and juicy chicken breast hand-breaded and fried to a golden brown perfection. Topped with their rich and zingy Rock n’ Roll sauce, American and Swiss cheeses, and placed on buttery Texas Toast. The Rock’n Rooster is the name and don’t forget it! December is bringing a sandwich championship to one lucky town and Sheldon is very much in the running thanks to Langer’s Bar & Grill. Stay tuned!
