Hale, IA: Jones County (Our 50th County!)
It’s the same old story. You’re craving a great sandwich and you’ll go to any length to get it. We loaded up the gallivant-mobile and set out for the historic Grant Wood Trail to the tiny village of Hale and one of East Iowa’s best destination restaurants. The beef-loving needle pointed us to Hale Tap & Supper Club!
One of the best ways to road trip in Iowa is through Jones County with all of its history at every turn. There are treasures everywhere you go, including in the tiny community of Hale and its very well known supper club that lures in travelers by the hundreds, including The Iowa Gallivant, on the weekends. Let’s see what Hale Tap can do with a 1/2 pound of ground beef…

Buttery Texas Toast with a huge all beef burger patty, lots of mayo, tomato, lettuce, cheese and the ever important touch of sliced ham. That makea the Jungletown Stacker and that makes it on our list for the Best Between Bread! Hale could be winning our award in December for Iowa’s best sandwich and it’s time you go and check it out yourself. We recommend going on the weekend and ordering a side of Prime Rib with your Jungletown Stacker. You think I’m joking?
