Washington, IA: Washington County
Our taco tour led us into the county seat of Washington County and we discovered a very busy restaurant that is pumping out a lot of delicious food. Team Goodvin was more than hungry and you’ll see what I mean when you look at what we ordered. We came for tacos and left having a lot more!

Great work on the tacos, Mi Pueblo Real. Now lets see what else you’re slinging our way. A burrito the size of an overweight chihuahua-Check. Smothered cheese enchiladas-Check. Shrimp nachos-Check. A big ole chimichanga and nice helping of beautiful guacamole-Check. Lively decor depicting authentic Mexican landscapes-You know it!
We’re loving this challenge, but why are we putting ourselves through the anguish of picking just one to be awarded as best hometown tacos? Because their can only be one highlander. That’s the best lesson I learned coming out of the 80’s. See you again taco-mania!
Be sure to read about our other taco discoveries in the communities of Albia, Bettendorf, Columbus Junction, Coralville, Davenport, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Iowa City, Kalona, Knoxville, Lamoni, Muscatine, North Liberty, Ottumwa, Solon, Storm Lake, Tama, Tipton, Toledo, Wapello, Washington, Waterloo, West Branch, West Liberty, and Winfield. One of these towns will be awarded Best Hometown Tacos in December of 2016!
Thanks for reading! -Team Goodvin
Hi, Team Goodvin. Thank you for sharing this colorful and humorous review. I loved the line, “A burrito the size of an overweight chihuahua-Check.”
It was huge!
