Hecho En Iowa-A Search for the Best Hometown Tacos: Locale 9, Albia

The historic town square of Albia, IA may have historic tacos. And KILLER guacamole! Casa Agave brought their “A” game. 24 Washington Avenue East.

Albia, IA: Monroe County

When you want a shrimp taco….you need to get a shrimp taco! We were road tripping through southern Iowa when we hit up Monroe County and the town square of Albia. Standing out with the rest of the historic buildings was Casa Agave. It was a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was filling up customers. Always an invited sign…

Albia was busy with families in town for the local high school’s graduation and Casa Agave was more than ready to go for the rush of customers.

The servers placed themselves through the dining room as table after table of customers poured in Casa Agave. The vibrant colors and tejano music getting pumped in kept the ambiance exciting and enjoyable as we inhaled our tacos.

Tender shrimp and spicy chorizo tacos on soft flour tortillas. We managed to find happy homes for these brave tacos.

We filled up on tacos and some of the most well-prepared and fresh tasting guacamole we’ve had on our travels. Casa Agave came through for Team Goodvin and is doing the same for Albia’s locals and visitors everyday. We’ll see if Casa Agave has what it takes to be an Iowa Gallivant champion in December!
