It’s just a matter of weeks before we a crown a champion for The Best Hometown Tacos, and Tama county has its second contender! Los Charros Mexican Grill served up some Steak al Pastor with grilled pineapple, fresh Pico de Gallo, and a fiery chile sauce that brought some major heat. The “whoooooo-WE” kind.
We made our usual trip around the menu and smashed a bowl rich queso dip with shrimp, a couple hot plates of cheese enchiladas, and a huge smothered bean burrito.
The crew was zipping around the busy dining room with some impressive speed. We needed extra icy cold bottles of Jarritos after that spicy chile sauce with tacos. And that’s always a good thing!
Be sure to read about our other taco discoveries in the communities of Albia, Bettendorf, Columbus Junction, Coralville, Davenport, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Iowa City, Kalona, Knoxville, Lamoni, Muscatine, North Liberty, Ottumwa, Solon, Storm Lake, Tama, Tipton, Toledo, Wapello, Washington, Waterloo, West Branch, West Liberty, and Winfield. One of these towns will be awarded Best Hometown Tacos in December of 2016!
