The Iowa Gallivant is forever searching for delicious tacos and Fresh Deli in Davenport, IA, more than came through for us. They fused together the best of two completely different worlds. They took the spicy and nutty flavors of Thai cuisine and made it into the comfort food that we know and love as the taco. We cruised through their Thai tacos with pulled pork, crisp cabbage, fresh diced cucumber and tomatoes, soft corn tortillas, and topped with chopped peanuts. Damn, these were tasty!
Fresh Deli was packed with locals that were telling us how much they visit. They were extremely busy and couldn’t more efficient. From tacos to sandwiches, to hot soups and salads, all their food looked delicious and everything was made with ingredients from their own farm and others throughout the area.
When you’re looking for farm to table restaurants, Fresh Deli should be on the short list of Iowa restaurants you need to get to. Tacos come in many shapes, sizes, and loaded with thousands of different ingredients. Davenport won our first culinary crowning in 2015. Can this historic Iowa river town go back to back? We’ll see in December!
