Hecho En Iowa-A Search for the Best Hometown Tacos: Locale 19, Tama

In Tama, you can get your groceries and have your tacos, too! 117 West 3rd Street

Tama, IA: Tama County (Our 34th County!)

The taco train made a stop at the old railroad town of Tama and we loaded up on the local tacos. El Gallito is your stop for your groceries and a great selection of food from their conjoining restaurant. And they’re serving up some amazing authentic Mexican food right down to their homemade tortillas. Let’s see what Team Goodvin dug in to!

From left to right shall we. Lengua (Beef Tongue), Chicharrones (Pork Skin), Tripas (Beef Intestine), and Chorizo (Pork Sausage). Live a little!

Warm homemade corn tortillas filled with the not-so-common cuts we’re used to and topped with fresh cilantro and diced onion. El Gallito is serving up the real deal when it comes to authenticity. Always a welcomed treat when were searching for the best hometown tacos!

Meet Miguel and Carina. The proud owners of Tama’s El Gallito. Thank you for the great tacos!
