*Just north of Storm Lake is Sioux Rapids near the county line. A small town with a local bar and grill that keeps the steaks grilling and the customers feeling satisfied! Sioux Rapids, IA: Buena Vista County

If you’re wanting to road trip this great country going north to south, then I suggest mapping out an endeavor on US HWY-71. In Iowa, it stretches from the Okoboji area in the north and into Page County and Clarinda area in the south. It’s a classic Western Iowa regional path with Sioux Rapids being one of those many HWY-71 towns, and you’ll want to make a pit stop at the Wagon Wheel Bar & Grill to fuel up on some great cooking!

Get your veggies taken care of first thing at the Wagon Wheel Bar & Grill. And we love our fresh veggies in salad form topped with wonderful dressings, cheese, diced ham, and boiled eggs!
Very cheesy bacon cheeseburgers are readily available at the Wagon Wheel Bar & Grill. Our family loves’em swimming in tangy BBQ sauce. This Sioux Rapids eatery can grill up a mean burger!
Out came the star of Sioux Rapids which was this perfectly charbroiled Ribeye. It was easy for us to cut into this tender steak and it was an absolute joy to call it my very temporary friend. I always make friends when I visit Buena Vista County! Just look at those steak fries waiting to join the party! From the waterslides in Storm Lake to steak night in Sioux Rapids….Welcome to Buena Vista County, Iowa!

Make your HWY-71 exploration tasty by stopping into Sioux Rapids and getting one of these beefy meals prepared for you at the Wagon Wheel Bar & Grill. The steaks and burgers were nice and juicy and brought to us by amazing service. We really enjoyed being around the locals and the good times they produced. We captured the entertainment provided in Storm Lake that would be mixed with the rural drives on the Glacial Trail Scenic Byway, and into more of small town NW-Iowa that we’ve always loved. Ribeye-up on Highway 71!
