Earlville, IA: Delaware County
You can find a lot of memorable places on historic Old 20 here in Iowa, and this includes some of the best ways to shop, eat and support local. 2018’s Wurst Road Trip showed us a lot of what this state has when it comes to what’s home grown, hand cut and Iowa raised and there’s one very important thing we learned. That was just a warm up for what Iowa has to offer in the world of sausages. Welcome back, fans. Dan’s Locker starts off 2019!
See how happy I am! Dan’s breakfast links hit our plates first and they were the centerpiece of the classic breakfast sandwich. Buttery toasted rye with over hard fried eggs, crispy bacon, melted cheese and plenty of skillet fried breakfast links in every bite. A little raspberry jam for dippin’!
Casserole night can be every night at my house. Give the brat-buns a day off and slice up the smoked bratwurst, from Dan’s, and get it in a Pyrex. We made our popular cheesy hash brown casserole and added the sausage to the recipe and we just found a permanent addition. Get your veggies and add some peas, corn and have a little kraut on the side. You want some? I just more in the oven and you have until bubbly to get over to headquarters!

Simplicity at its best for the first stop in 2019. Iowa’s Wurst Road Trip has plenty more to go and Earlville has set the bar for the rest and we’ll see if Dan’s Locker wins our Wurst Award in the winter. Are you thinking road trip? I bet you will be soon as you think about discovering great places like this! Be sure to click here to see all the locations from 2018’s Wurst Road Trip!
