It’s been a great friend to The Iowa Gallivant since 2015 and countless others who love their time in the QC! Radisson-Quad City Plaza 111 East 2nd Street, Davenport, Iowa. Our stay here was complementary and the opinions expressed are our own. Let’s Gallivant!
*We were provided with complementary stays at the Radisson-QCP and the opinions are of my own. Thank you!
We have been traveling to the Quad Cities quite consistently for many years. Since we started The Iowa Gallivant in 2014 and we’ve had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that seems to be just an arms length to a short jaunt to wherever want to go or whatever we need in Downtown Davenport. It’s time to make your reservation at Radisson-Quad City Plaza!

A burger near Centennial Park in Davenport
Poutine!
Use your hands anyway! One of the areas best burgers and some fresh cut french fries to go with it! This is the one and only Davenport Burger. It comes with Bleu Cheese Crumbles Bourbon Glazed Onions Smoky Bacon Crumbles Horseradish and all on a Pretzel Roll. https://www.facebook.com/meandbillykitchenandbar?fref=ts
A piping hot soft pretzel coated in crunchy salt and served with a jalapeno cheddar cheese sauce. It’s partner today is a row of deviled eggs with a grain mustard and roasted garlic filling and topped with a bacon jam. Monie cut hers in half and used a fork. JayJay did not. https://twitter.com/FSBrewery
A trifecta of homemade sodas from Fresh Deli in Daveport, IA. They make their own syrup and use their own Nostalgia Farms berries and grapes in these flavor varieties. On tap today was raspberry, huckleberry and concord grape! https://www.facebook.com/FreshDeliNostalgiaFarms?fref=ts
Monie ordered the egg salad sandwich. fresh Deli has their own take on this classic sandwich, made with their fresh baked bread by the way. Instead of a giant scoop of mayonnaise with a few chopped eggs, Fresh Deli slices their local boiled eggs and serves it on local greens. Hence “egg salad”. Well done, Nostalgia Farms!
Davenport’s Freight House. This has had many faces and tenets through its long history, and is currently in the middle of one of its greatest times. Please check out their farmers market if you’re ever in the area on the weekend. We’re talking prime time Midwestern fare! http://freighthousefarmersmarket.com/
Incredible amounts of options when it comes to restaurants, entertainment, the arts, sports venues, farmers market, shopping, and everything the whole family needs for a memorable and fun time in Davenport. And perhaps all of the Quad Cities. No, the whole region isn’t within a comfortable walking distance. But, Channel Cat Water Taxi is right down the road from the Radisson-QCP and it can take you to all four ports on both sides of the river in the Quad Cities!
Quad Cities river taxi
We all love a great family adventure and what we love too is a grownup getaway that any couple needs from time to time. Thankfully, the Radisson-QCP is the anchor we need to make this happen. Park the car and leave it at the hotel and take on Downtown Davenport!
Beer flight at Front Street Brewery in Davenport
Tasty suds and delicious food awaits Team Goodvin at Front Street Brewery in Davenport, IA! http://frontstreetbrew.com/
The hop-green colored sign caught our eye and we gave this fine taphouse all the attention we could. http://greatriverbrewery.com/
Meet Joe and Kirsten! They’re holding up a Farmer Brown Ale ans a West Coast IPA. Enjoying the afternoon at Great River Brewery in Davenport, IA.
Like I said, we weren’t the only ones tipping back the craft at Front Street Brewery in Davenport, IA!
You’ve found clue 8 of 8! Great work! Now message us on our Facebook page with the results! Good luck! That’s my wife Monie by the way. She’s awesome….Thanks for Gallivanting!
The bar scene is lively and the local breweries are always flowing with their Iowa made craft beers. Great River Brewery and Front Street Brewery are right by the banks and conveniently close by the Radisson-QCP. How’s this sound? Baseball, breweries, bar food, bands….I think I know the answer.
The comfortable, modern and very inviting interior of the Radisson-QCP.
The staff has always been very professional and quite helpful during or stays here. Many of our stops in the Quad Cities have been recommended by the folks who work the front desk and they never disappoint. The rooms have always been beautifully managed and provide that important night’s sleep we need after visiting the Quad Cities. I think the time has come to switch screens and get to making your plans for a visit to one of the Midwest’s funnest areas. Guess where we think you may want to stay?
