*There’s nothing better that a holiday getaway and we’re lucky to be the official On the Road Ambassadors for Linder Tire Service!
Toys get broken and the adorable pajamas you buy will only last so long. You can travel to make everyone else happy at a big gathering or you can do something revolutionary. Make you and your family happy and get out and gallivant this year and you don’t even have to go far to have some of the most memorable holidays ever. Here’s some of our favorite yuletide destinations and we think you should give’em a chance too!
Burlington
Just a short drive from Iowa City and the Quad Cities area and it has just what a family needs for everything this season. Catfish Bend Casino, Fun City with an indoor water park, and Pzazz Resort Hotel all in one roof. Burlington is also home to some of Iowa’s most historic landmarks, architecture and beautiful riverfront scenery.
North Iowa
Lake Mills, Northwood, and Forest City are just a stone’s throw away from the Minnesota line and they know how to to do Christmas. From beautiful light displays, lively Main Streets, and delicious local food with Norwegian heritage permeating throughout the whole region.
Decorah
Another Scandinavian rich area in a holiday oasis. Decorah has it all for an incredible holly jolly road trip. Plenty of shopping, restaurants, wineries, breweries and cabins to rent to keep you snugly while you wait for Santa to find you.
Ottumwa
We love the drive thru light displays and Ottumwa has one of Iowa’s best. A long trip through their beautiful public park with thousands of lights can highlight your next wintry gallivant. This town is also home to some of the best taquerias in the Midwest and the Canteen Lunch in the Alley: Where the loose meat sandwich began!
Eldon
How about a Grant Wood themed Christmas! The American Gothic House is where his greatest works of art was created and they host an annual gingerbread workshop while the interpretive center goes all out with its holiday cheer. Don’t leave town without stopping into the opera house and seeing one of the best collections of decorated Christmas trees that you’ll ever encounter.
West Bend
The Grotto of the Redemption in West Bend is the world’s biggest grotto and the beautiful and inspiring collection of stones, fossils, crystals, rocks and petrified woods doesn’t end here at this parish. Inside the nearby church is the Christmas Chapel with world’s biggest purple amethysts in the center of the Nativity scene.
Mount Vernon

Not very many communities close off a street just for sledding anymore. Mount Vernon still does. This hilly town can supply the outdoor recreation while you get some shopping done on the main drag. These rosy cheeks can brave the icy temps and snowy conditions because they’re in a vehicle that is taken care of. And not just taken care of by anybody.
We take our family cars to Linder Tire Service in Iowa City, North Liberty or Grinnell and get them back on the road with clean bill of health every time. And they’ll be ready for you this holiday season!
You see, the crew of automotive professionals have been winterizing and preparing the locals vehicles since 1932 and that means a lot to anyone traveling for the holidays. When you get your products and service at Linder’s, you’re experiencing their 86 years of legacy and incredible customer service.

Speaking of obstacle courses…that’s your average big box retailer during shopping season so why not call an audible and spend a little while at Linder’s this Black Friday. You may not get brand new tires under the tree, but you’ll show your loved one how much you mean to them by getting them a fresh set of theses. As Cousin Eddie would say, “You’re finer than a new set of snow tires…” Click here for some money saving deals and coupons at Linder’s!
How’s this look for Santa’s busy little workshop! It’s the season for the unforeseeable and the predictable. You know when you need the oil changed so get it scheduled here at Linder Tire Service and watch the elves go to work. I bet the crew is going to love that last one. Go see them in action on November 24th for Small Business Saturday!
None of us like slick roads but you know they’re coming. Get your brakes, struts, shocks and alignment checked regularly and get the advice you need on these at Linder’s. If you need repairs, they’ll have the team to get’em done. As you can see, they know how to take care of all sorts of vehicles so you can take care of all that holiday exploring on Iowa’s open roads this year. Have a great time and be safe out there!
