Cresco, IA: Howard County

A cozy atmosphere is something I think many of us need from time to time. Small town Iowa has a way of bringing that out in some of the most memorable ways we’ve seen in our travels. One of those ways is in the form of a beautiful bed and breakfast. The Northeast Iowa town of Cresco has one of the most memorable B&Bs that we’ve ever experienced. Connie’s Century Corner B&B is a destination that I know many of you fellow travelers would enjoy. The historic house has been a Cresco landmark for generations and Connie’s care of it will keep it going for many more years to come.

Connie’s rooms were decorated differently at every turn with all of them depicting the history of the house and Cresco. Relaxation and ambiance is the theme with every square inch of her B&B and you can tell that all the furniture, antiques, pictures and every item has significance and is placed for the enjoyment of anyone visiting.

On the left is Connie and she’s the owner, operator, cook and all around incredible Cresco citizen that keeps this beautiful B&B flourishing. French toast bake, a mound of bacon, juice, and a lot of fresh coffee was served all morning long and she joined us with great conversation. And at Connie’s house she lets you have dessert in the morning! Northeast Iowa is full of scenery and loaded with places to see and unique experiences around every corner. Connie’s is one of its most outstanding gems.
