I had the pleasure to be in Northeast Iowa promoting all sorts of delicious restaurants for the Allamakee County Beef Passport. Hey, they picked the right guy!

One of those great meals was this ribeye sandwich at nearby Lid’s Bar & Grill! Just look at that tender steak….And that’s lunch!

When gallivanting we need a comfy place to stay and I happen to have my little companion, Jelly Belly, with me on this trip. So we needed a host that was pet friendly as well. The Waukon Retreat was ready to welcome us in!

As you can see….We’re a couple of pros when it comes to selfies. Spacious living room with a large TV and comfortable furniture for the whole group at the Waukon Retreat!

Did I mention that the kids are going to love it here? Well, they will. Look at that fire truck!
One of our missions was sale barn cookin’ with the nearby Cafe 76 making a mean omelet. This area has a lot to choose from when it comes to memorable restaurants, so start researching. Click here to see where we’ve been to all over Northeast Iowa!
Another unforgettable bounty of the Driftless Area is the scenery. This beautiful trout stream is at Yellow River State Forest just a short drive from Waukon. You’ve seen this pic in the summer, now imagine what it will be like in the fall. Yup, that was Jelly’s first trout stream!

Thank you to everyone at the Waukon Retreat for hosting us during our gallivant to Allamakee County! This Airbnb could have fit many more of us, and we’ll keep it in mind when bring a group to the Driftless Area. Well gallivant again, NE-Iowa!
