A long time ago I set a goal to see all four corners of Iowa someday. First was Keokuk in the southeast, New Albin in northeast, Gitchie Manitou in the northwest, and then it was Fremont County in the southwest that catapulted this journey into its finale. And it would turn out be one of the most scenic Iowa drives I’ve ever taken to get there. You know what they say, folks…The corner pieces (of the state) are always the tastiest and that includes the delicious menu at Whiskey Springs!
What a way to scratch off part of your bucket list! Southwest Iowa is loaded with premium road trip material and Fremont County is one of its most spectacular areas in the region. The Loess Hills National Scenic Byway has ample amounts of stops for scenic views in every community they stretch through. One of the most memorable ways to take a break, and enjoy Western Iowa, will be here at Whiskey Springs! Let’s head back to Hamburg for an unforgettable sunset and a juicy steak this year….
