*It seemed like it took a while for Autumn to get here, but there’s a place that’s going to be celebrating every weekend for this October 26th. We were thrilled to be hosted by Red Rock Farms & Ruff House during a fall getaway. The views in this blog post are of our own. Now, lets gallivant!
When you can mix a beautiful fall afternoon with a day at the farm in Northeast Iowa…Well, that sounds like a day that the entire family can agree to. From the babies to the grandparents, Red Rock Farms specializes in keeping all ages entertained while we celebrate this much anticipated season. What’s the attraction? That depends on the person, but for most of us it’s their gentile army of furry farm animals!
Did this cow just wake up? One of the most docile breeds I’ve ever been around whether its here at Red Rock Farms or at other farms. And it’s just one of multiple bovine breeds you’ll smile at when you get to Oelwein!The dairy goats are plentiful and they love visitors. They also like to be held and this one was fine with getting semi-swaddled in these KEY overalls. I’m just glad the little guy waited to poop after I put him back!Fancy yourself an equine buff? Then make this trip to Red Rock Farms! You’ll want to see them all and wish you had one at home by the time you get back to your car. Great for stocking stuffers!Get ready for a mural photo-op or many. They have several artistic opportunities to make your day even more colorful in Fayette County.I told you the whole family will enjoy Red Rock Farms! Mamas taking care of their kids on full display all day long when you visit.I couldn’t resist! Those little piggies were irresistible. And look who thought he packed his boots in the car and had to wear his slides to the farm! I have little piggies too…. It’s taco time! Don’t worry if you get hungry while you’re here because Red Rock Farms has you covered with concessions and they also bring in tasty food trucks!They don’t call Ruff House for nothing! Some one grab a puppy and quick! Thanks , I needed that….
I can’t stress this enough, folks…..This was a very small sample of what Red Rock Farms & Ruff House offers. Games, even more animals, pumpkins, wide open skies, gifts and hours of great times. Those scenic Autumn horizons and changing colors are ready for a rural Northeast Iowa road trip. Make sure you get Oelwein in your gallivant!
