Burlington, Iowa has bee a location we’ve been to several times, but it had been awhile since we jumped on HWY 34 and made the trip to one of Iowa’s most historic and cherished Mississippi River communities. We had a lot to see in just two days and we had the opportunity to enjoy this remarkable hotel with all the surrounding bells and whistles. Let’s get checked into our room!
You take it easy, Monie….I got this front desk meet-up handled!The lobby shines with class and displays a modern touch that gives you an insight to your room you’re about to enjoy. There’s no reason to rush things because this setting is quite relaxing.The folks at Catfish Bend read my mind! One of my favorite movies of all-time is The Godfather, and we had Vito Corleone greeting us! The bed and sheets were smooth and comfy and the atmosphere of the whole room was inviting. A great shower with quality products to get freshened up before you hit the casino!
Casino & Fun City
The entire Catfish Bend complex keeps you entertained with every step of the way. They have the casino, classic concerts and entertainers, indoor and outdoor water parks, and A LOT more! This facility is perfect for a family trip any time of year or a much needed grownup getaway. Just get over here and start taking it all in!
Time to take on the machines! Shiny stuff always gets my attention pretty easy. Especially when these games are printing out cash vouchers from my winnings! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!A cold one, a game of video blackjack, and the TVs set to the baseball game. I’m all in on this!We always gravitate to the sportsbook and this place has an awesome way of luring us in. Let’s Relax
Alright folks….I love taking a few hours in a casino and gaming but we all need the relaxing moments when we travel and gallivant these exciting places. Catfish Bend knows what I mean and they have excellent poolside opportunities to keep you soaking in the sun.
Just a few steps from our first floor room was this inviting scene. I think I’ll create the Catfish cannonball on this trip!Most people use cucumbers on their eyes while catching a few rays. I thought some of my winnings would be more appropriate while enjoying Catfish Bend. I felt so much younger and vibrant! Grab the remote and stretch out on that nice bed awhile and get caught up with your favorite shows. I bet you’ll doze off into a much needed nap though.Do you like to workout when you get a break? Catfish Bend has some pretty fancy equipment to keep up on your reps, miles, stretches and iron pumping.
Time for Dinner
It was time to get over to the Boogaloo Café for a round of meals from a talented kitchen. Our server did a great job, the beers were cold and the food came out hot and tasty! Plenty of TVs to keep an eye on that game you have some money on with a fun loving Boogaloo crew enjoying the night with everyone!
Fried cauliflower to start this meal off right! Breaded in-house and served scorching hot like they should be!I wanted to spice up my night so there was no way I was turning down this meal. Shrimp and tender chicken with mushrooms, onions and beautiful grilled zucchini! Buffalo chicken lips in a wrap! Why call them fingers? Another spicy way to enjoy the Boogaloo Café with a Burlington stapleNow this is what I call a dessert course! A trip back to the video games with a refreshing Icee!
