About

This guy has been around, man! While Jay’s family lived in Grundy Center, IA, he was born in Marshalltown back in 1978. Later, Jay and his family moved to Marion, IA, and then to Iowa City. In 1999, Jay took off on an 11 year culinary crusade that led him to Arizona, Montana, Cape Cod, The Florida Keys, The Black Hills of South Dakota, Austin, Central Illinois, and back to Iowa City in 2010. His love of traveling, food, and family will drive this blog. Iowa is an amazing state corner to corner and everything else between the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. There’s something brewing here in Cornbelt, USA and you should come and see it for yourself!

  1. Thank you very much for your kind words about Keokuk. I am the new director of the chamber in town as well as new to the area. I came knowing that this community has challenges but I see that it has so much to offer and I’m excited for the future. I hope on your return visit that you stop by the 429 office building where the Keokuk Area Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Keokuk Inc. And keokuk tourism offices are located. Safe travels

    1. Thank you! We look forward to coming back. I’ll give you a heads up when we plan on making the trip. Keokuk is truly a unique city and I love the history. The winding neighborhoods were fun to explore. When I lived in Montana I would visit Butte for many of the same reasons.
