This is the one time I may encourage you to put The Iowa Gallivant down and get on the road immediately. Because Southeast-Iowa’s premier pumpkin patch is only open through Halloween until they flip the property for the upcoming holidays! Go-Go-Go! Harvestville Farm had the goods….and gourds.
The selection is still second to none here at Harvestville Farm with these ample amounts of autumn staples. Add plenty of huge pumpkins ready for last minute carving and perhaps porch decor through New Year’s Day. Or maybe cooking. Seriously, try eating one every now an then.
We know that we all love to take kids to the local pumpkin specialists but we all know that its something the whole family can get into. Harvestville Farm succeeds when it comes to activities that youngsters, Mom, Dad, Grandpa and Grandma can enjoy. Look at that human hamster wheel course! My grandma could destroy anyone willing to race in these.
However, it all comes back to those corn pits and bouncing all afternoon long. Two huge opportunities for jumping through the whole Halloween weekend and just try to get them out of the corn. Everyone can bury themselves in the warm sand at the beach, but our Iowa kids look forward to the endless kernels every season.
Harvestville Farm knows how to warm you up too. Their main building is packed with gifts, local products, gourmet foods and all that candy we need to get through the long cold months. Soap or candy? You know the answer to that. But, don’t think for a moment Harvestville doesn’t have you covered for November and December. Your stockings can get stuffed pretty quickly here and they host one of Iowa’s best farm to table dinners cooked by local chefs and featuring all that amazing homegrown fare.
