The Northeast corner of Iowa has many reasons to love this unbelievable region. Scenery, Mississippi River culture, countless ways to recreate in America’s great outdoors, and some of the greatest bacon on earth. If that last one doesn’t get you running to your car with the family kayaks recklessly strapped to the roof, then I don’t know what will. The Iowa Gallivant is on the sandwich quest of the century and Pool 9 Pub & Grub has a classic that makes the list! But where does that legendary bacon come from?

Local is always the way to go and Pool 9 gets their bacon, and other items, from the award winning City Meat Market just down the street in New Albin. City Meat Market has a giant smoker and is known for some of the best meat in Iowa. I guess that’s a pretty good start when it comes to making this….

Hold on….BLT..That stands for Bacon-Lettuce-Tomato. I just got that!

5 simple ingredients and you have of the greatest sandwiches to ever take over America. Bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo and toasted bread. And if you’re going to pull off one of these classics, you better have some GREAT bacon. Pool 9 most certainly has it and they put to use for their delicious BLT. What would a sandwich search be without one of the staples like this?
